Scrape the barrel, break fresh ground

I realize that a picture is worth a thousand words,
when I see worms taken away by the early birds.

So, I fed myself something warm,
And got ready to face the storm.

A picture worth 1000 words comes close,
But my 50 lines today are worth a million of those.

I will hit the nail on the head today,
for I know the wind is blowing which way.

There’s once bitten, twice shy,
But when twice bitten, you ask “Why, God, why!”

People say many things weren’t taught in schools,
But it is a poor workman who blames his tools.

Cut your teachers some slack,
They overwork their day, just to hit the sack.

A little learning is a dangerous thing,
and you end up with a disguise instead of a blessing.

By barking up the wrong tree,
you end up adding insult to your own injury.

Time to jump on the bandwagon,
Before the wagon tickles the tail of the dragon.

Make efforts to be on the ball,
It doesn’t cost an arm and leg at all.

A penny saved is a penny earned,
So give your thoughts the penny for which it yearned.

“The more you know, the more you realize you don’t know”,
While ignorance is bliss, bliss also lies in the will to grow.

Stop flocking with the humble bragging birds of the same feather,
It is time to get your act together.

Before your cock of the walk attempt,
remember that familiarity breeds contempt.

There’s not a snowball’s chance in hell,
that stagnancy can hold that success well.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,
Just bite the bullet and endure.

Qualifications don’t show you the light,
Showing them off doesn’t always sit right.

Irrespective of whether you’re young or old,
are you worth your weight in gold?

Unless you’ve been around the block more than one time,
your guess is as good as mine.

Humility while learning is a house of cards,
that you must protect for the whole nine yards.

With your head in the clouds, or a cloudy head,
you can never discover the best thing since sliced bread.

Keep an ear to the ground,
because an empty vessel makes the most sound.

It’s not a piece of cake to tread on thin ice,
every piece of knowledge comes with a price.
