Am I answerable for my independence?

If you want to hear why I hold my ground,
I can explain the first time around.

My perspectives are part of my personality,
a direct product of my ethics, values, and morality.

But if I have to explain myself on every occasion,
it almost feels like a personal invasion.

While I am capable of justifying my opinion satisfactorily,
there is no need for it obligatorily.

Everyone wants to have their viewpoint,
but at the same time, they don’t want to disappoint.

So, being right lets me defend and justify,
and entitles me to keep my head held high.

A million factors influence my thoughts,
Regrets, morals, ethics, and memories of all sorts.

But they are all mine and mine alone.
I have grown with them, and with me, they have grown.

My personality is the story of my life,
the result of every success and strife.

Whether or not you care,
I may or may not choose to share.

I am the way I built myself,
while you are the way you built yourself.

Any definition of my personality
can never answer questions of your reality.

So, stop looking for your answers in me,
or for that matter in any other person that you see.

Solutions, illusions and confusion combined,
all of them coexist within your mind.

I stay fearless and satisfied
because I look for my answers inside.

I remain my sole attendant,
which keeps me forever independent.

Irrespective of your role, keep your independence secure. That is because everything and everyone is temporary, but independence is a friend who will never leave you if you have the courage to retain it in your life. Point to ponder?
